Over ten weeks ensued our Midwest communities debate to enact an all-encompassing mask mandate. Sound familiar? Well, it happened today in a reactive plea by our local health practitioners due to “at capacity” ICU status.
Timing is everything these days; like taking out the trash, if you get lazy and miss trash day, you have to deal with a week of stinky trash. Bad analogy? Maybe. But the situation WE ARE ALL IN stinks.
I particularly don’t want our beloved health professionals to clean up what may have been avoidable. I don’t want our children to learn that there is one day you deal with things and not the other six days. Yet, it is on my table. The Midwest, my tiny corner by majestic Mighty Mo, is not immune.
How do we prevail? How do we patiently await the foreseeable future without COVID?
Making a pact, just like the ones currently institutionalized by the universities, we’ve sent off our students to” thrive and stay alive,” or the health care system that has always had a mask policy for its patients’ primary care.
Illness or not, the mask debate has made me sick and tired. The real debate is, how long do you want to live this way?
I am putting this on the table.
Since I live in the Show-Me State— post your masked selfie on the Midwest and Grassfed’s Facebook Page Show Me Mask Pact – Community Cause and tag it with #showmemaskpact and list your charity of choice. Everyone who LIKES the page and TAGS their masked selfie will have a $1 donation (in your honor) be donated to your specified charity.
Insider tip: $1 may not sound like a lot, but if you band together for a particular cause, that could mean something. See the details below.
Showing up for this PACT shows your compassion for our community and the organizations you want to continue supporting St. Joseph, Missouri. Your face (covered) slows the spread.
Local business owner and food blogger Lisa Sprague of midwestandgrassfed.com vows to contribute up to $2,000 to the specified local charities as a whole for this PACT. You must like the page, post your Mask Selfie on the Midwest and Grassfed’s Facebook Page Show Me Mask Pact – Community Cause and tag it with #showmemaskpact to show St. Joe the love!
